And then he walked along the edge of the Circle

This is the place where we will post your stories about the Green's Playhouse, The Glasgow Apollo and Satelitte City (The Wee Apollo). As it develops we will break the stories up into sections such as Myths, Gigs I missed, Meeting the Bands, Where are they now etc. No story too trivial and we will only edit out bad language!

New Forum structure on Apollomemories soon.

Comments on The Pretenders [reply]

this was my first gig at the apollo it was full to capacity chrissie hyndes smouldered through the full set the band as a whole were superb the songs including their hits were sang with deep emotions chrissie played to the crowd and they loved it!! [reply]

Their 1980 show was my first gig at the Apollo too - aged 12. We saw them getting on the tour bus after the show and I asked Chrissie if she wanted a fag. "Do I want a fag? Oh you mean a cigarette. Yeah thanks" Happy days. The support band for their 1981 gig were The Flying Padovanis. When Pete Farndon got kicked out of the Pretenders, he started getting a band together with Henry Padovanis and Topper Heddon from the Clash. He died before it got off the ground. [reply]
