| And then he walked along the edge of the Circle
This is the place where we will post your stories about the Green's Playhouse, The Glasgow Apollo and Satelitte City (The Wee Apollo). As it develops we will break the stories up into sections such as Myths, Gigs I missed, Meeting the Bands, Where are they now etc. No story too trivial and we will only edit out bad language!
New Forum structure on Apollomemories soon.

| One of the funniest Apollo nights, for me and my pal anyway. I was there
with David Scobie...U out there Scobie?...and we dreeped off one of the boxes and
onto the stage behind the P.A. we were about to run onstage when we seen a guitar
technician tuning about 6 beautiful Rickenbackers for a moment we hesitated
wondering whether we could grab one each an leg-it out and run to the bus
station...we thought better (maybe!) and just ran on the stage and danced around till
we got pulled off by security, we were about to be "shown the door" when
Paul Wellers' dad told the bouncers to let us go...cool guy! so we watched the rest
of the show from the side of the stage and met the band afterwards where i told Bruce
Foxton that i thought their new LP(modern world) was rubbish and Scobie tried to get
off with Wellers girlfriend..ha ha, thats what you get when you get close to your
fans and not the ones who just wanna tell you "your great" brilliant
night!

| Weller's old man was indeed a cool guy. I remember a Jam gig in 1980 when me and
a few of my mates went down to the Apollo on the afternoon of the gig to see if we
could get into the soundcheck. We banged on stage door but we got a knockback back by
a roadie. We weren't for giving in, so we tried several more times with the same
result. On what was probably the fourth time of asking, the roadie was telling us to
f* percent &! off when John Weller came to the door and told the guy to let us in.
You can imagine how chuffed we felt walking from backstage to take our seats in
the stalls for the soundcheck. But as we emerged from the side of the stage it became
clear that we weren't that privileged - every Mod in Glasgow must have been there!
