And then he walked along the edge of the Circle

This is the place where we will post your stories about the Green's Playhouse, The Glasgow Apollo and Satelitte City (The Wee Apollo). As it develops we will break the stories up into sections such as Myths, Gigs I missed, Meeting the Bands, Where are they now etc. No story too trivial and we will only edit out bad language!

New Forum structure on Apollomemories soon.

Comments on The Enid [reply]

A pal of mine was at this...it was "sparsely attended".  So much so that apparently the bouncers went to Lauders across the road and folk could just walk in..'cept they didn't :-)

Yes I was at this gig, and there were about 250 people there. Having said that, the band played a stunning show when it would have been easier just to have gone through the motions, or said stuff it, and just packed up and gone home. A very enjoyable evening!!! [reply]

This was my first Apollo gig. A mate of mine had gotten 4 free tickets from a relative who worked for the -promotion company. I recall about 200 people being there. Wounded John Scott Cree supported and I thought he was better than the Enid. I remember getting the impression he couldn't leave the stage quick enough as there were hecklers a plenty. The Enid got the same bemused welcome (bear in mind that The Enid were a very English pomp rock band whose single at the time was Land of Hope and Glory which they played at the end). My first gig but by no means the best. [reply]
