And then he walked along the edge of the Circle

This is the place where we will post your stories about the Green's Playhouse, The Glasgow Apollo and Satelitte City (The Wee Apollo). As it develops we will break the stories up into sections such as Myths, Gigs I missed, Meeting the Bands, Where are they now etc. No story too trivial and we will only edit out bad language!

New Forum structure on Apollomemories soon.

Comments on Santana [reply]

I saw Santana supported by Earth Wind and fire. After the concert, went for a bag of chips. Returning to Buchanan St bus station through the alley, and past the stage door, Carlos Santana and the band came out to get on the tour bus. There were only about a dozen fans waiting, and Carlos took time to shake hands with all of us and sign autographs. I still have the signed ticket. [reply]

I was at that gig too, Brian. I remember Carlos wearing white. It must have been pretty crowded back stage with Earth, Wind and Fire supporting. Any chance you remember the date. I was sure it was in 1980 around June/July but there's no tour listing of Glasgow in the Santana website or on this site. I remember it was the year I was pregnant with my son who was born in September. Either way it was brilliant to see/hear them finally in the flesh. Cheers. [reply]

I saw Santana in 1976 and I am sure the support band was Journey. [reply]

I was at the Santana September '75 show and recall it as being jaw-droppingly good.

My future wife, who I met years later, was also at this gig.
