| I remember seeing Sammy Hagar twice at the great venue. The re-arranged date
for the Loud and Clear tour with Riot supporting was an absolute stormer! Great
show and I got to meet Riot in Listen next day. (They were doing an album
signing there) I've still got the radio broadcast from Radio Clyde on the
"Standing Hampton" tour when he finished with Whole Lotta Love.
Again, a great show. Couldn't understand it when he never came back to the
Apollo. Same with the Scorpions... some great shows then never came back!

| I saw Sammy Hagar with Montrose, supporting the Quo in the early 70's. they
were an amazing band and I remember them on the whistle test the very next night, all
wearing the same gear. I also saw Hagar in the late seventies/early eighties
and I think the support act was a group clled Vandenberg

| Remember the Montrose gig supporting Quo well. I thought Montrose were better than
Quo ,though I wasn't too sure about Sammy's polka dot trousers. "Rock
Candy" was amazing as was "Space Nation Number 5".The Loud and Clear
gig was tremendous as well.

| Yeah, that was the gig where the band started up with Sammy off-stage and the
American announcer introduced him 'ladies and gentlmen, please welcome, all the way
from America - Mr Sammy Hagar' and when Sammy came running on with THAT guitar all
you could hear was eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee coming from his Radio transmitter until a
roadie came on and plugged him up with a cable !! i also remember him saying at the
end 'you guys are amazing - I'm going to be back here every 6 months' - still waiting
Sammy.

| Great gig with Riot turning in a superb opening performance. Saw them at Donnington
later that year and they were even better. Hagar was excellent and it was good to see
him actually playing lead guitar for a change instead of now just poncing around
singing. Last decent album before he started issuing some real stinkers.

| Absolutely brilliant gig(loud & clear), hadn't heard much of him before this but was
blown away by the end of the night, didn't he have a sore throat? Went to Standing
Hampton tour as well but didn't think it was as good

| Yep, that's the ones. Started off nervous as hell because they'd been told how
tugh the Glasgow crowd were and ended up playing a blinder. Got a great
reception from the crowd too. I'm sure they supported someone else a little
later (might have been MSG as Robin McAuley sang with MSG a little later)
