| And then he walked along the edge of the Circle
This is the place where we will post your stories about the Green's Playhouse, The Glasgow Apollo and Satelitte City (The Wee Apollo). As it develops we will break the stories up into sections such as Myths, Gigs I missed, Meeting the Bands, Where are they now etc. No story too trivial and we will only edit out bad language!
New Forum structure on Apollomemories soon.

| I actually met a fella called Davie Roy in Studio 1in Byres Rd after watchin Rangers
lose to Man Utd(sorry Bears,,couldnae resist mentioning it!)Strange that i meet
someone whos played there one night after i discovered this site eh?He was tellin me
how they supported Gallagher And Lyle in the Apollo. He was the drummer. Also told me
that Maggie Riley(Of Mike Oldfield fame)was singin with them at that point. A very
nice fella he is too. Bought him a drink and got wan back! He doesnt play
anymore he said. I told him to have a look at the site, but i dont think hes an
online kinda guy. He also told me the origin of the Cado bit of the name, but id
had a few bevvies so i er,,forgot! Heheehe!

| Dunno where the Cado bit comes from either! Originally they were formed from two
Glasgow bands, if I'm right. One was called Up I recall they sent a letter to NME or
Melody Maker asking about band name copyright after going to see beck Bogert and
Appice at the Apollo when the support band were also called Up. 'That' Up changed
their name to Upp whereas Cado Belle formed shortly after. I saw Cado Belle only
once, at Glasgow City Halls. Had the album and the EP, which was all their recorded
output. Managed to make a CD copy of the album although it's now available (plus the
EP) on CD only in Japan!! Maggie Reilly did indeed go on to work with Mike Oldfield
among many others and was a sizeable success around Europe, notably in Germany. Colin
Tully from the band did some soundtracks (Gregory's Girl if I recall). After
Maggie left they soldiered on, I recall seeing them on BBC 2 live on Rock from the
Universities or whatever it was called. Tyhe line up was totally different and the
singer was, I think, one of the guys who went on to do backing for Paul Young.

| They appeared on Rock goes to College introduced by Pete Drummond in their original
line up. Why would anyone want to reform Cado Belle at all then reform it with a
completely different band?
